“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter” (Isaiah 5:20).

It is hard to overestimate Disney’s role in the moral decline of America, with its constant glorification of occult themes and its endless parade of train wrecks of child role models for millions of children (e.g., Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, etc). Tragically, as these Disney-made “stars” lead millions of their adoring fans down the snake hole of debauchery the world grows darker with every passing moment. Knowing Disney’s M.O. for calling evil good, it is not surprising that Disney continues to push the envelope and glorify darkness under the guise of “art” with movies like Maleficent.

The new Disney movie Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie as the main character, is a spin-off of Disney’s “classic” Sleeping Beauty. In Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent is an overtly evil witch who curses princess Aurora after not being invited to her royal christening. Maleficent casts her diabolical spell by declaring that before the sun sets on her 16th birthday, Aurora will "prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die.” Maleficent’s curse is softened after three fairies step in with some magic of their own and are able to reduce Aurora’s death to perpetual sleep.

The movie Maleficent is yet another example of how Disney influences millions of adults and children with darkness, by taking evil characters and making them into heroes and heroines. In Maleficent, Disney takes a notoriously wicked witch and turns her into a beloved character and even into the savior of the world. Maleficent is a movie that unfolds as though Lucifer were trying to tell his side of the story.

In this review I will be relying on Maleficent’s past in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, as it was there that she became known as the most evil character in Disney’s hall of infamy… before they gave her a heroic makeover.

Maleficent as a Depiction of Satan

Sleeping Beauty

In Disney’s 1959 movie Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent is for all intents and purposes, basically a depiction or personification of Satan. Maleficent’s satanic connotations are undeniable when you realize that she is depicted as heading up all the evil forces of hell and portrayed as the wickedest person in the world. The word “maleficent,” when used as an adjective, describes one who wants to do evil and harm others. It is an antonym of “beneficent,” which means to do or produce goodness. It is defined as “something very close to malevolent or diabolical and is a lot stronger than naughty or mischievous” (Source).

Add to this that in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent is the self-proclaimed “Mistress of All Evil.” She bears devilish horns and seeks to destroy what she deems as good. In Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent’s evil sidekick is a raven whose name is Devil in Spanish (Diablo). In the movie Maleficent, Disney changes the name to sound a bit more like our English word for Devil, to “Diaval.”

In Sleeping Beauty, when Prince Phillip, Auora’s “true love,” seeks to rescue Aurora, Maleficent seeks to destroy him and tells him that in facing her he will have to fight "all the powers of Hell," indicating that she has all satanic power at her beck and call. After she makes this declaration, she transforms herself into a huge dark dragon, which is representative of Satan in the book of Revelation:

“And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him” (Revelation 12:9).

After Prince Phillip kills Maleficent by throwing his sword into her evil dragon heart, she falls to her death and the world is free from her diabolical spells. When Sleeping Beauty came out in 1959, Disney was glorifying so-called “white magic,” but 55 years later the world is so sufficiently jaded and spiritually blind that Satan can use Disney’s most satanic character of the past and turn her into a heroine. Disney isn’t just utilizing their old formula of glorifying the more palatably deceptive “white magic,” which was used in Disney’s occult formula for years (and still is), but is making a savior out of a wicked witch that in the past represented unadulterated wickedness and Satan himself.

No doubt, Satan would have liked to have portrayed the character Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty as the hero of the story, but the world wasn’t ready for it yet. Ironically, now that the world has fallen more deeply into its own progressive sleep of death (via Satan’s spells of indoctrination through Hollywood, mass media and the music industry) Satan is more brazen in revealing his true colors.

In Disney’s Maleficent, like Lucifer who was created perfect in his ways (Ezekial 28:12-15), Maleficent is at first portrayed as good before she became evil. It is interesting, though, that her name is not changed to Maleficent after she becomes evil, but is her name from the very beginning.

Angelina Jolie in Maleficent

The movie’s narrator describes Maleficent as a “spirit,” which is the way the bible describes angels, including fallen angels like Satan (Matthew 12:43-45; Hebrews 1:14). One difference, however, is that while Lucifer chose to be evil out of sheer pride and the desire to be God (“I will be like the Most High” –Isaiah 14:14), Maleficent becomes the most powerful being in the universe by becoming the savior of both the physical and spiritual world. Like renditions of Satan from the past, Maleficent is depicted with huge, dark, foreboding wings and massive ram horns. She is also depicted as the most powerful being in the spiritual realm.

Blurring Good and Evil

The movie’s plot line deviates radically from Sleeping Beauty so that the goal of making Maleficent look good and heroic can be achieved. Rather than depicting her as pure evil, she becomes corrupted over time as a result of being betrayed and having her wings cut off.  Maleficent defeats the king of the human realm when he greedily enters her kingdom to steal the fairy treasures. The evil king, now utterly humiliated, wants his revenge before he dies and offers his crown and kingdom to whoever is able to vanquish Maleficent. Stefan, who is Maleficent’s love interest as a child, returns to her later in life, claiming that he is warning her of the plot of the evil king, who has called for her destruction. As she places her trust in Stefan and falls asleep in his arms, he betrays her and cuts her wings off in his quest for the king’s throne.

After Maleficent awakes and realizes her wings have been taken, she wails intensely and then becomes incredibly dark and evil. It is in the imagery of her losing her wings that we have yet another depiction of Satan being cast out of paradise. However, Maleficent seems to banish herself and moves to solitary places, making her world like a desert filled with thorns. This is somewhat reminiscent of the demon Jesus spoke of, who after being cast out, went to desert places to plot more evil (Mathew 12:43-45).

King Stefan in Maleficent

After Stefan ascends to the throne, Maleficent seeks to destroy him by putting an evil spell on his daughter, Aurora, and causing her to fall into a perpetual sleep. However, after casting her evil spell and watching her grow up, Maleficent is attracted to Aurora’s innocence and seeks to renege on her evil spell. Unable to revoke the powerful incantation before Aurora falls into her deep sleep, she along with other fairies seeks out one who possesses “true love” to kiss Aurora, as only true love can undo the spell and set her free. This becomes a huge problem, as no one is found in either kingdom who possesses such true love. The problem seems to be resolved when they take Prince Phillip, who is depicted as falling in love with Aurora earlier in the movie, to her bedside. Prince Phillips gives her a gentle kiss on the lips, but to no avail, she remains the sleeping beauty.

While it all seems utterly hopeless at this point, guess who steps up to save the day with true love? It is none other than the “mistress of evil” herself, the very personification of Satan. Maleficent is the only one who exists that possesses true love and she gives Aurora the kiss, which raises her from the death-like sleep. Maleficent is not only an inversion of good and evil, with Satan being cast as the savior of the world, but an inversion of the sexes, as the male prince did not have what it takes, but it had to come from the darkly conflicted Maleficent.

Calling Evil Good and Good Evil

Princess Aurora in Maleficent

The lines between good and evil are further blurred when Aurora teaches the millions of people in her voiceover near the end of the movie, “My kingdom was united by one who was both hero and villain.” That is exactly what Satan wants the world to believe. When the Antichrist arises, puts Christians to death, and unites the world in a new world order (Revelation 13:5-7), the world can just as easily say “the kingdom was united by one who was both hero and villain.”

When you realize what the subtext of the movie is all about, you see that Satan is not only recast as a liberating Savior, as in ancient Gnosticism and modern Satanism, but also that he is the only one who possesses “true love.”

In the end, Maleficent appears to be the reigning leader of both the humans and spiritual realm that are now “united,” and Aurora is proclaimed Queen of both kingdoms. Maleficent is based partially on a true story, because it is based on Satan’s fall. But that is where the real story and the satanic fantasy end. While Satan will one day get the world to worship him as they worship the Antichrist (Revelation 13:4) and he hopes to derail God’s plan (Revelation 16:14-16), invert good and evil (Isaiah 5:20) and defeat the King of kings and Lord of lord’s (Revelation 17:14; 19:11-21) the reality is that the original Sleeping Beauty is closer to the truth. In the end Jesus Christ will defeat the dragon/Satan and will rule forever and ever (Revelation 11:15).

Jesus said that Satan is the Father of lies (John 8:44) and his tactics from the very beginning have been to claim to be a liberator (Genesis 3:1-6) as he “disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:13-14). Satan is all about inversion.

Making Satan the Savior

The early church had to fight against Satan’s tactic of calling good evil and evil good by his use of Gnosticism, which often depicted Satan as a savior who liberated Eve through esoteric knowledge and claimed Yahweh, the creator God, was evil. The lie that Satan is the real liberator of humanity is the cornerstone of occult and New Age teaching by both Aleister Crowley and Theosophist Helena Blavatsky.

Aleister Crowley:

“This serpent, Satan is not the enemy of man, but he who made gods of our race, knowing good and evil; he bade ‘know thyself!’ and taught initiation.  He is ‘the Devil’ of the Book of Thoth, and his emblem is Baphomet…” (Aleister Crowley, Magick: In Theory and Practice, 1973, p. 296)

Helena Blavatsky:

And now it stands proven that Satan, or the Red Fiery Dragon…  Lucifer, or "Light-Bearer," is in us: it is our Mind—our tempter and Redeemer, our intelligent liberator and Saviour from pure animalism.” (Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, Volume 2, Theosophical University Press, 1988, p. 513)

“[O]ne of the most hidden secrets…involves the so called fall of Angels. Satan and his rebellious host…will thus prove to have…become the direct Saviors and Creators of divine man…Thus Satan, once he ceases to be viewed in the superstitious spirit of the church, grows into the grandiose image…It is Satan who is the God of our planet and the only God. [The last line sits on a page headed ‘Holy Satan.’] Satan [or Lucifer] represents…the Centrifugal Energy of the Universe…this ever-living symbol of self-sacrifice for the intellectual independence of humanity.” (Ibid)

Satan continues to teach this lie to hundreds of millions of people as he conditions the blind masses through movies, music and mass media. He prepares them to worship him through the coming Antichrist.

Hollywood’s Mass Makeover of Satan

Satan’s casting of himself as a benevolent being in Maleficent is only the latest installment wherein Satan inverts the truth for unsuspecting moviegoers, who are virtually clueless in regard to the conditioning process they are being subjected too.

In past exposés that you should be aware of, we reveal how the Transformers movies are about fallen angels (Autobots) who have rebelled against their heavenly leader and are presented as good and saviors, while the originally good angels (Decepticons) are portrayed as evil. We also expose this wicked inversion in our exposé Avatar and the Coming Delusion, which reveals how the avatar (savior) is a picture of the coming Antichrist! In two of our more recent videos, The Noah Movie Deception and The Noah Movie, Gnosticism and Satan, we show how this satanic inversion was portrayed in the movie Noah, where Noah and God are portrayed as evil, and Satan and the fallen angels were punished for wanting to help humans after God punished them. In the movie, Satan and the fallen angels are not only shown helping Noah build the ark but are seen ascending to heaven and being forgiven in the end by God. Noah actually extends his patriarchal blessing on his children from the serpent’s skin shed by the serpent in the garden!

In our exposé on the movie Legion, we show how the movie centers around the archangel Michael (Paul Bettany), who is depicted as a fallen angel who turns against God because he wants to save humanity from God’s end time wrath.

The archangel Michael justifies his disobedience to God by saying, "They are lost. He taught us to love," and "I was a general in His [God’s] army. I was given an order and I didn’t believe in it.” Michael, who assumes the role of Satan or God’s enemy, is presented as compassionate, good and heroic, while the good angels who serve God, are presented as evil and demonic. At one point an old lady becomes possessed by one of God’s angels and is intent on killing an unborn baby, telling the pregnant mother that her baby is "going to burn" and "you’re all going to burn." This baby is presented as the future hope for the world. The Archangel Michael’s mission is to make sure this baby stays alive and that new prophets are followed so he can successfully lead humanity into a new age. Michael says of the child, who is presumably the coming Antichrist, "He will lead the way."

In our latest video exposé, X-Men and the Gay Agenda, we expose the inversion of sexuality and prove in the words of the X-Men gay director Bryan Singer and gay X-Men writers, that the series of movies has a subtext, which presents the X-Men as gays coming out of the closet. Singer, incidentally, was just sued for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old boy, along with other Hollywood elites who allegedly passed him around at a mansion in Encino, California.

The One True Savior

The truth is that Satan is not a Savior, but as Jesus reveals “a murderer from the beginning,” and the “father of lies” (John 8:44). Jesus also revealed in The Book of Revelation that Satan will ultimately be cast down and finally sent to the lake of fire for eternity:

“And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him…. And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 12:9; 20:10).

Jesus, not Satan, is the Savior of the world:

"I, even I, am the Lord, and there is no Savior besides Me” (Isaiah 43:11).

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21).

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world” (1 John 4:14).

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

“It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:15-17).

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me” (John 14:6).

Jesus is the only Savior, because He created you and He is the only one whose holy sacrifice could pay for the sins of the world:

“That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe” (1 Timothy 4:10).

Jesus is the Savior of all people in the world in the sense that He provided salvation through His death on the cross for all people without exception (1 John 2:2), but He is the Savior “especially of those who believe,” because His sacrificial provision for our sins does not save us unless we repent of our sins and put our trust in Him as our Lord and Savior! If you have not yet embraced Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it now, because you are not promised tomorrow (2 Corinthians 6:2)!

The present wicked onslaught by Hollywood which calls “evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness” (Isaiah 5:20), only goes to show just how late it is on the prophetic clock and how critical it is that we stay close to the Lord Jesus Christ and immersed in His holy Word. Our prayer is that the Lord would use our Good Fight family to help us get the word out as we shine the light of Jesus on Satan’s lies and share the glorious gospel of God’s wonderful saving grace.

Let us hold fast to the faith as we see the evil days approaching and may God give us the grace we need to fulfill the great commission and reach the lost while we are still able:

“But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy” (Jude 1:20-24).

May the Lord Richly bless you, as you press on to know Him and to make Him known!
